Praise God - Anyway!

.

.
Well, hurricane Ike has left a swath of damage and flooding across parts of Louisana and Texas the full scope of which has yet to be determined. For those of us fortunate enough to have been spared its destructive effects it is easy to to quickly return to "life as normal". Our family routines, morning worship services, lunch out with friends & family and NFL football (or other electronic distractions) all in powered, airconditioned comfort. But, as someone who has experienced the challenges of being close to the center of landfall of a major hurricane (Ivan) don't forget to remember in prayer those dealing firsthand with the consequences of hurricane Ike. The U.S. military, the Texas national guard, the local police and firemen, the local medical services, the power company workers, and all the volunteer organizations and local church families already in action providing care & comfort for those in the impact area and those who fled.
.
And while prayer is always a good first choice don't forget action through your time & treasure. The Red Cross and other diaster relief organizations are always looking for volunteers and donations.
