I am looking forward to the November 6th elections for a number of reasons not the least of which is so that I will stop receiving several politically motivated phone calls and voice messages each day.  I am personally amazed that these phone calls are seen as a viable communication strategy but then again I am also the person that finds it hard to believe TV advertising works for selling specific products.

One of the efforts I try to go through each election cycle is to actually read something about each candidate running and the party they are affiliated with.  Access to the Internet and the Google search engine have made this a relatively simple task though one still must use discretion when culling through the search results for an "official" web site.

The Florida General Election Ballot for 2012 has 12 pairs of candidates for the office of President and Vice-President.

As I look over such a diverse field of candidates representing such a wide selection of opinions and beliefs I marvel at a country which has provided a system of government and processes that allow for such an election to occur.  While I am very much against Socialism as a form of government I am grateful for a system that gives their views voice in a non-violent manner.  I also do not see myself ever voting for a party that would have Rosanne Barr & Cindy Sheehan on a ticket individually much less together but I am still grateful for a system that allows their voice to be heard.

Regardless of your ideology, your view of God, your moral beliefs, your upbringing, or your current political affiliation I would hope that you are an active participant in this years election and an active participant throughout the intervening 4 years in your local, state and federal government.
