Tis the Season

Advent Calendar
Advent -from the Latin word advenio meaning to come.
.
For many people Advent season and the calendar above represent a joyful yet frustrating countdown to Christmas Day. The culmination of an exhausting month of shopping, gift giving, credit cards, Holiday parties, TV specials, Santa Claus, decorated trees, lighted homes and much much more. For others this season it is a time of sad memories, bad family experiences and obligatory gift giving and for some it is just another time of hunger, want and need. For Christians Advent is the traditional begining of the church year and it begins 4 Sundays before Christmas and helps Christians remember and celebrate the coming of Christ through His birth in Bethlehem.
.
But what does this season mean to you?
.
What does the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem mean to you?
.

If your thoughts concerning the Advent Season are unclear, obscured or uncertain I encourage you to stop, be quiet and listen.

"And there where shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over the flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you: he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manager. Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
