Night of Joy

BarlowGirl
Last night was pretty enjoyable. We are currently at Walt Disney World and last night we listened to several great Christian bands play in the Magic Kingdom for the "Night of Joy" concert. We enjoyed a 40 minute set by BarlowGirl, a 20 minute set by Todd Agnew, a 50 minute set by Casting Crowns, a 40 minute set by David Crowder, a 45 minute set by Mercy Me and we finished up with another 20 minutes of David Crowder!

A couple quick thoughts from yesterday. I loved seeing all the very creative Christian themed t-shirts people were wearing. I loved seeing the variety of people, age, gender, race and denominations represented who were enjoying the night and worshipping God.

Looking forward to tonights concert.

Labor Day 2006

"Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success." - Henry Ford

"By nature all men are equal in liberty, but not in other endowments." - St. Thomas Aquinas

Well, September has rolled around and our nation observes another federal holiday, Labor Day. For many citizens it is just another day off from work or that 3 day weekend blowout before school starts back up. Few people, myself included, could tell you when it was first observed nationally, the history behind it becoming a federal holiday or the motivation behind those in support of it. I also couldn't tell you, "Why do we have a 40 hour work week? or How is the "minimum wage rate established?"There are so many aspects of our modern American life that we take for granted with little to no knowledge of the "Why" behind them. Why is that?

Atlanta Cup 2006 - I took Ashley to Atlanta this weekend for a soccer tournament. Her team looked great and was in a very competitive bracket. They made it to the semi-finals where they lost in Penalty Kicks. Overall (1-1-2) for the weekend.
