"See! The winter is past, the rains are over and gone.
Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come,
the cooing of the doves is heard in our land;
the fig tree forms its early fruit,
the blossoming vines spread their fragerance.
Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me."
Song of Solomon 2:11-13

We have really been blessed with some terrific weather over the past few weeks as Spring has settled in. Flowers in bloom, a variety of birds at the feeder, fruit starting to form, cool crisp mornings, baseball & softball games at the rec center and of course the flocks of people at the local garden center buying all sorts of things. I really must make a conscience effort to savor and enjoy each day of Spring.

Happy Anniversary!

53 Years !

On April 14th, 1955 my parents embarked on a wonderful journey together that I am certain has taken them places they had not even imagined. I wonder if they even knew where Pensacola, Fl was 53 years ago.

A Legend Passes

"I have played three presidents, three saints, and two geniuses. If that doesn't create and ego problem, nothing does." Charlton Heston

Learned this morning that Charlton Heston passed away after a prolonged struggle with Alzheimer's. As a young child watching movies in the late 60's and 70's I really enjoyed Charlton Heston portaying larger than life characters in roles like Moses in The Ten Commandments, Judah Ben Hur in Ben Hur, John the Baptist in The Greatest Story Ever Told, El Cid in El Cid and Marc Antony in Julius Caesar.
