Change

Well 2009 has been a year for change with regards to the property behind my house. Calvary Chapel Gulf Breeze purchased the six acres behind my property a couple years ago and have begun construction on their expanded parking lot and new main entrance. I am actually glad for the new main entrance since the Calvary Chapel members currently use my street Oriole Drive as their main path to their facilities. The new entrance will take all of their traffic off my street.

Calvary Chapel has experienced quite a bit of growth since we moved into our house in 1996. Many of our friends attend Calvary Chapel Gulf Breeze and they have been pretty good neighbors all these years.

Transitions

"And may that Being who is supreme over all, the Patron of Order, the Fountain of Justice, and the Protector in all ages of the world of virtuous liberty, continue His blessing upon this nation and its Government and give it all possible success and duration consistent with the ends of His providence." John Adams, March 4, 1797
.
"My fellow-citizens, no people on earth have more cause to be thankful than ours, and this is said reverently, in no spirit of boastfulness in our own strength, but with gratitude to the Giver of Good who has blessed us with the conditions which have enabled us to achieve so large a measure of we ll-being and of happiness." Theodore Roosevelt, March 4, 1905.
.
Regardless of one's political viewpoint or theology our uniqely American process for selecting our most highest leader has worked for the 56th time. With the 20th of January 2009 drawing close one can only wonder what occupies the thoughts and mind of the 44th President of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama. Forty-seven years old, husband and father of two young daughters and the next Commander in Chief of the United States of America. That is pretty heady stuff.

Google Does it Again

I am very impressed with the way Google comes up with new and creative ways to connect people and digital data of a variety of formats and from a variety of sources. Today I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Life photo archive has digitized their photographs and made them availble through Google Images. The archive starts with the 1860s and ends with the 1970's. The military historian in me has really enjoyed looking at some of the imagery. These images help breath life into what previously may have been a few words printed in black & white.

Never Younger Than Today

.

Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near when you will say,"I have no delight in them"; - Eccl 12:1
.

Laziness, procrastination, undisciplined, distracted.........it is so easy to do nothing or to do the minimum and I must admit that I struggle constantly against my nature which desires to do the minimum. My personal life, my work life, my spiritual life, my relationships; they all require time and effort and if I am not careful or disciplined I will do the minimum or worse I will do nothing.

.
You and I will never be younger than we are today. So today is the "days of your youth".
.
Did you remember your Creator today?
.
Do your beliefs match your reality?
