Well the first day of Autumn 2010 found an afternoon high temperature in the low 90's  and a backyard filled with insects and birds.  Today was the first time I can recall spotting the Long Tailed Skipper so that was pretty neat.  And as my friend Tim pointed out todays full moon was a rare "Super harvest Moon" which means that on the the first day of autumn the moon was full.

A few hummingbirds arrived in our backyard a couple weeks ago and this past weekend I was able to watch 5-6 at a time fly about the backyard and feed.  Their agility is impressive as is their speed and as I watch them I was once again reminded of the beauty our created world holds if we would just pause and look about us.
