Happy Anniversary (57 and counting)

On April 14th 1955 my parents were married and embarked on a journey which I am quite certain has taken them to places they never imagined they would live and through events they never could have imagined.  After a brief honeymoon in New York City, my dad took my mother back to her college in upstate New York and he went back to his duty station with the USAF at Amarillo AFB, Amarillo, TX.  They rejoined shortly after my mother graduated.

April 14th, 1955 Gloversville, NY
...
I don't suspect that after growing up in and around Gloversville NY their entire life that my parents thought they would eventually spend the majority of their life together in Florida and retire to Pensacola.
...
I don't believe that in 1955 my parents thought that my dad's father would retire and eventually come live with the family for over 15 years.
...
I can't imagine my parents thinking in 1955 that they would eventually move my mom's mother and step-father in with them in Pensacola for a couple years.
...
I don't see how in 1955 that they would have been thinking about the challenges of living through floods (River Ridge, La May 3rd, 1978),  hurricanes ( Ivan in Pensacola, Sept 2004), and career crisis's. (J.M. Fields bankruptcy)
...
I do however believe that in April of 1955 as my parents began their journey together they knew that they loved each other very much and that their devotion towards one another was unquestionable.  The rest as some say would just be details.

Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad.
