Being Present....

We have seen Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday come and go for the year 2012.  In another weeks time December arrives bringing us closer to Christmas Day, New Years Eve and the beginning of a new year 2013.  I have been quite blessed throughout my entire life and as such have always enjoyed the Holiday Season.  The sights, smells, sounds, memories, family, and the sense of anticipation all help to bring the Holidays into sharper focus.
...
I am also amazed about my perception of time during the Holiday Season.  Life seems to accelerate after Thanksgiving and before you know it a new year has started leaving me wondering where the past month has gone. As December approaches I hope to continually remind myself to stay in the present moment throughout the Holiday Season.  To enjoy with gratitude sights, sounds, smells and experiences as they occur and to constantly ask myself;

 Will the people I meet today be blessed by my presence?".

Most Americans will celebrate Thanksgiving Day on November 22nd, 2012 and enjoy a number of traditional foods and activities with their families.  Many people will also give thanks individually and with their families to the Creator of all things for the grace and blessings He has granted each of us. While some in the mainstream and not-so mainstream media will attempt to make political statements regarding this day I think it best to take it at face value and simply give thanks to our Creator for all He has blessed us with individually and as a nation.
...
While you give thanks and praise to God for all He has blessed you and your family with please remember those who are serving in our nations military who are not with their families this Thanksgiving Day.
...
Thank you God for your most gracious blessings bestowed upon us all.  Help each of us to see these blessings and to give You are most sincere and grateful thanks.
